I didn't have a detox past about 4 days and it wasn't bad for me… after that… If you are big like you say… all the roughage that you will be eating will clean you out quickly, which will amount to more than you think. After that it will begin to rapidly drop your weight as you lose… it may go through a stationary period after you lose some weight for a week or so while your body adjusts, but stick with it and it will net you massive loss quickly… good luck.

Fruit is good for you! Surely you'd want to be watching your fat or calorie intake?

I am quite a small boned person and even I lost quite a lot of weight when I started. I am 172 cm tall, female. When I started out I weighed 61 kg. In the first week I lost 0.5 kg every second day. That's 3 pounds a week. Now I weigh just 55kg. Which is small for my height.
Fav raw food website is http://www.rawfoodmedia.com

Nope, absolutely not. Raw food contains more a higher probability of contaminants. A diet only works if the foods you are eating are good for you and you can get energy off of it. Just stick to the normal foods you know you should be eating. Make sure you subtract 500 calories if you are not exercising and don't subtract if you are. If you cut too many calories your body will think it is starving and it will hold on to everything it can. That's why people who go on these outrageous 1000 calorie starvation diets fail.

have cucumber. tomato, cabbage, apples, watermelons and all fruits except mangoes and bananas.
but dont eat JUST raw food. it might help u to lose fast but not permanently. it will definitely bounce back, so get a balanced diet.
U may try the general motors diet wich includes raw foood to a great extent.
This program is designed for a target weight loss of 10-17 lbs per week. It will also improve your attitudes and emotions because of its cleansing systematic effects.

The effectiveness of this seven day plan is that the food eaten burn more calories than they give to the body in caloric value.

This plan can be used as often as you like without any fear of complications. It is designed to flush your system of impurities and give you a feeling of well being. After seven days you will begin to feel lighter because you will be lighter by at least 10 lbs. You will have an abundance of energy and an improved disposition.

During the first seven days you must abstain from all alcohol
You must drink 10 glasses of water each day

Day One – All fruits except bananas. Your first day will consist of all the fruits you want. It is strongly suggested that you consume lots of melons the first day. Especially watermelon and a loupe. If you limit your fruit consumption to melons, your chances of losing three lbs. on first day are very good.

Day Two – All vegetables. You are encouraged to eat until you are stuffed with all the raw or cooked vegetables of your choice. There is no limit on the amount or type. For your complex carbohydrate, you will start day two with a large baked potato for breakfast. You may top the potato with one pat of butter.

Day Three – A mixture of fruits and vegetables of your choice. Any amount, any quantity. No bananas yet. No potatoes today.

Day Four – Bananas and milk. Today you will eat as many as eight bananas and drink three glasses of milk. This will be combined with the special soup which may be eaten in limited quantities.

Day Five – Today is feast day. You will eat beef and tomatoes. Eat two 10 oz. portions of lean beef. Hamburger is OK. Combine this with six whole tomatoes. On day five you must increase your water intake by one quart. This is to cleanse your system of the uric acid you will be producing.

Day Six – Beef and vegetables. Today you may eat an unlimited amount of beef and vegetables. Eat to your hearts content.

Day Seven – Today your food intake will consist of brown rice, fruit juices and all the vegetables you care to consume.

Beverages you may consume while on the program :

Water (flavoured with lemon/lime if desired).
    Club Soda is OK.
Black Coffee. No cream or cream substitute. No sugar or sweetness.
Green Tea = Herb or Leaf.
Absolutely nothing else except the fruit juices which are part of day seven. No fruit juices before day seven

I am eating salads nightly with a chicken or fish protein but I also got a Oster blender $49 and blend a grapefruit in the morning and add pomegranate and acai powder to it for a nice lift to get me going. I am losing about 1.4 pounds a day, so my WII fit tells me lol..p.s. i am also burning about 500 to 800 calories a day on my elliptical and lifting weights every other day

You may slip back into old eating patterns once you go off a raw food diet and therefore gain the weight back. Cutting calories may help but if you plan to eat the same way it won't work. Consider focusing on all the raw foods you enjoy and eat lots of them and then fill in with the cooked foods you have to have. Your health will be better off with the raw foods though. Possibly rapidly at first if you have a high sugar/bad fats diet now. But it would stream off once you lost all the bad fats that are stored in you. I'd suggest juicing, I love it, but not just juicing but replacing meals with juice if you are wanting to lose weight. Its like a fast but better then a water only fast.

This is really motivating. I have been revisiting the Fit for Life book recently which is also a raw food way of eating.

  • Hailey A says:

I make a lot of dishes that are raw, such as beet ravioli, but it takes awhile to make and a few appliances are needed. Do you have a mandoline and a food processor?

The lunch salad sounds so good right now.

I personally cant really help you with a meal plan, I just eat apples, bananas, salads, and the occassional planned meal like the beet ravioli.

Email me through my profile if you want actual recipes from some of the books I have.

yes!! It is very effective for weight loss, but really if you decide to do it, you should view it as a lifestyle, not a quick way to lose weight. If you lose a lot of weight eating raw food, it will all come back on once you go back to eating normally, so you have to make a commitment to it. Get a raw food cookbook and you'll see what great food choices there are.
