saveknowsbest: Thick skin is needed for dealing w/ their getting angry, paranoid & hide things. It’s especially difficult emotionally when dealing with a loved one. I would HIGHLY recommend getting other people to help you care for a parent. It was rewarding caring for my mom until the end (Sept 2009) but it is also very hard to have her lash out in anger so often. My skin is definately thicker and I am a better person because of taking care of her.
