Of course, the amount of food eaten is going to impact your weight, and if you decide to replace our SAD diet with loaves of whole grain bread, you may be healthier but you’ll probably still be overweight.
If you want to lose weight, you need to burn more energy than you take in through food. Increasing exercise can certainly help you do this and avoiding fast and other processed foods will make it easy to decrease calorie consumption as well as avoiding foods that elevate your blood glucose levels.
The more natural your diet, the more active your lifestyle, the more you drink adequate amounts of pure water and the more you can avoid chemicals and other toxins, the better your chances of being restored to a healthy weight and the easier it will be to stay there.
Any weight loss diet tip that doesn’t prescribe lifestyle change isn’t worth listening to. Do yourself a favor and reject artificial, mass-produced food products. Go back to a more natural way of living. Eat living foods that will impart to you some of their own vitality. Food is fuel. The average kitchen is going to have all that you need to have a healthy vegetarian/vegan diet if there is a well stocked pantry.
All you need are foods such as fruits, vegetables, beans/peas (dried and/or fresh), whole grains, seeds (example sunflower seeds), and nuts.
If you feel strongly about it and your parents want conformation that being a vegetarian/vegan is a healthy approach to diet then ask them to set up an appointment with a dietitian/nutritionist to explain how one can and many do live on such a diet.

If your eating a balanced vegetarian diet that includes: peas, beans, nuts, seeds, and whole grains; you don't have to worry about protein. Unless your cholesterol is high eat the whole egg.
Some veggie and even meat eating Athletes include protein drinks in their diet. You may want to speak to your coach about this.

I've been a vegetarian for 4 months now, and I hope I can continue for at least a year. I feel so much better, and one of the main reasons I switched last summer to a meat-free diet is for animal rights. Just go to the peta site ( peta.org ) and read or watch some of their exposees, they really opened my eyes.

it only took me a week to get over the meat cravings … to make sure you feel full after meals eat things with lots of protien like greek yogurt that has 14 grams per cup … beans are really good. Drink lots of water eat lots of fruit. There is no reason why you should be having hunger pains just because you become a veggie, if you are you need to rethink what your eating maybe go to the lib and get some veggie info books and cook books.
