Applying benzoyl peroxide on the Acne.org Regimen

Acne treatment is becoming more complicated with new drugs coming to the market everyday. All these drugs promise immediate and sure treatment of acne. What about the good old benzoyl peroxide? Let us discuss.
Acne treatment-
How do you treat acne? To clear acne one must address the causes. Acne forms because of clogged sebaceous glands on our sin. These glands are connected with hair follicle and produce sebum. Sebum is the oiliness of the skin. When the gland produces more sebum, and dead skin cells accumulate, they block the pore of the gland. Now you have a balloon full of dead skin cells and sebum. The bacteria P.acnes infect this gland and produces pus inside the gland. This is the moderate or the sever stage of acne. As the gland expands with more sebum, pus and dead skin cells, it bursts after some days. That causes the liquid mass flows out and may form a scar is the acne forms deeper.
Acne and benzoyl peroxide-
Benzoyl peroxide is available in almost all forms of skin care- creams, gels, liquids, lotions, soap etc. Benzoyl peroxide acts in three ways. It kills the bacteria in acne. It opens closed acne pores and it removes excess oiliness from the skin. This way benzoyl peroxide treat acne by reducing excess sebum, disinfects acne by killing the bacteria and by opening the pore, it opens the gland and no accumulation takes place. Acne is cured.
Acne- how best to use benzoyl peroxide?
Patience is the first key. No acne treatment will clear acne overnight. It may take weeks before you see visible results. Apply benzoyl peroxide gel or cream twice a day after washing face. Apply all over the face even if acne is absent in some places. In the beginning some flare up may occur forming more acne but that settles over time and all the acne slowly clears.
Acne- precautions in use of benzoyl peroxide-
If you are pregnant or breast feeding, ask your doctor. If you have active eczema, you may irritate the skin further. If you are using other topical on the same place you may have a problem . Please consult your doctor in these cases. Benzoyl peroxide is a sure remedy of acne and is available in OTC. To learn more about acne treatment with topical applications click here- acne treament.

Help answer the question about benzoyl peroxide acne
Benzoyl peroxide as an acne treatment: damaging?I've just bought an over-the-counter benzoyl peroxide acne cream, but I heard it can cause premature aging. How much truth is there to this? Should I look for cleansers with safer ingredients, and if so, which ingredients are most effective?

It is okay to use benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid acne medication together, in low "doses". I used the same continuous control acne cleanser that you do, and my face got really irritated and red and blotchy. you might want to use a more gentle acne cleanser. I have read in many magazines that using both, one in the morning and one at night, is good to combat acne. Hope I helped!
The 4 main ingredients that are used for acne are: benzoyl peroxide (up to 20%); 2. salicylic acid 3. retinoids 4. sulfur. Then a doc can prescribe antibiotics and other modalities. Experiment with the sulfurs and the salicylates. You can also combine them with each other. STop if you experience irritation, peeling, excessive dryness etc.
thanks ;]

I have the same thing,I have the clearisil one, works amazing for my skin type.
To keep your acene away you should use neurogena facel srub and you should also keep your face moisterised because it will make it soft and repair the damage.
I've been in that situation and there is really nothing you can do about it. There are things you can do to try to reduce the blemishes and get rid of acne/pimples temporarily but you will always be finding yourself cleaning your face or your body depending on where it's at.
I mean of course your acne should go away eventually but for some this is the case their whole life.
I'm 29 years old and have been suffering from these little pests since I was a teenager. I tried all sorts of face washes from the local grocery store and what not, but nothing seemed to work. If anything it would just make my skin dry and itchy.
Literally the best acne face wash I've ever used has been this stuff called clearpores. It has got rid of the acne to quickest and has been a success ever since I got it. It's unique cause of it's herbal supplement you take a long with it that helps your skin from the inside out. I saved money on it at skincleansingsystem.com at the time which was helpful.
You should really look into this stuff and if you can to assure the best results, get the 3 month supply because if it doesn't work it will still save you butt on the return policy.
Well good luck and best wishes.
That percent is way too high for your face if you are just beginning to use it. Try to use a lower amount.

Brevoxyl is benzoyl peroxide in prescription form.
If your container says, Brevoxyl-4, it's because it's 4% more concentrated in benzoyl peroxide than the regular benzoyl peroxide you buy over the counter.

i've been told it can, may take many years, keep tryin, lol
Not sure, The citric acid in lemon has properties that can kill harmful bacteria present in acne. A paste of orange peels also cleanses the skin and fights harmful bacteria.Log on to http://tipsfromruby-acne.blogspot.com/ for a few home made tips to heal acne
